Christmas with Bioderma

Treating skin to a full face and body care regime has been made easy with the BIODERMA Beauty Essentials, a selection of products that cleanse and rehydrates and soothes dry, sensitive skin and today, I’m giving it a full review.

When winter comes around, we suddenly find ourselves with dry, sensitive skin that is open to the elements. For some of us, who have complicated skin, like me, who turns red and sore at even the thought of almond oil, it can be even more difficult.

For those of us who find that conventional skin care products just don’t tick the boxes, it’s time to turn to a brand that focuses on scientific research and dermatological advances to create the products that we need. Cue BIODERMA.

BIODERMA is a high-performing brand, trusted by makeup artists and has recently even been featured in Vogue, due to its powerful products. BIODERMA is a highly effective skin care company that meets your skin’s needs. No harsh, abrasive chemicals. No red, blotchy skin. Instead, silky smooth skin that hydrates and makes your skin glow. Now, isn’t that something to smile about?

What if I told you that you can get £34.10 worth of BIODERMA products for £22.50? The Christmas set from BIODERMA would make an absolutely beautiful gift for the loved one in your family who needs a little boost during the winter months. Better still, replace the wet wipes for your daughter and girlfriend and swap in the gift set from BIODERMA, using Micellar Water has truly changed my make up game. Trusted by professionals. Trusted by me.

Micellar Water

Micellar Water is that product you never knew you needed until you try it. I was always quite content with using a makeup remover wipe, one designed for sensitive skin. It would be a little abrasive and cause a little blotchiness, but it wasn’t too bad. The first day I received my BIODERMA Micellar Water, I gave it a whirl. See what the fuss was all about. My god, the fuss is real. It’s not a fuss at all. It’s not a hype. It’s a quality product.

The Micellar Water, applied with a cotton wool pad, is a non-rinse cleanser and makeup remover that instantly lifts away surface debris and impurities. It does exactly what it says on the bottle. I wasn’t wearing any makeup at all, yet looking at the cotton wool pad, you’d have thought my face was filthy!

My skin felt glowing and radiant afterwards. It was like an instant facelift. The shine returned and it certainly made me feel better about my skin. I have a few small lumps on my forehead that are blocked pores, so I’m hoping that regular use of the micellar water will clear this out, I’m confident that it will.

Basically, Micellar Water is liquid gold if you’re into your skin care. If you haven’t yet bought some micellar water and you’re still using makeup remover, I’d 100% suggest making the switch.

Atoderm Ultra-Gentle Shower Gel (100ml)

The first thing that caught my eye about the shower gel was the size. For such a sought after, well-known brand, I was surprised to see that it had such a good sized bottle included.

When I talk about BIODERMA, people tend to go “Yeah, they do Micellar water!”. Yet, completely miss that Bioderma makes so many fantastic products. From the products I’ve tried, they’ve all been light and gentle and left me more than satisfied. I’m yet to come across a disappointing product, which is so unheard of. I’m gradually making the switch when my bottles are empty, they’re going to be replaced with Bioderma.

The Atoderma ultra-gentle shower gel is a soap-free formula that gently cleanses and soothes dry, sensitive skin. Instead of harsh chemicals in the shower, it gives a soft yet powerful clean. Once in contact with water, the gel transforms into a creamy foam that feels soothing and relaxing. The shower gel can be used on the body and the face, being equally as sensitive. The shower gel has a light yet fresh fragrance which leaves skin protected from the elements, yet soft and calm. I haven’t had any redness or blotchiness from the shower gel!

Hydrabio Crème Rich Moisturising Care (50ml)

I started using moisturising when I was around 12 years old. I was told to never wait for the wrinkles and fine lines to appear to start using it, as that’s when it was too late. I’m sure it was my Nan who told me this. Truth be told, I’m not the best at keeping up skincare regime. It’s only when Alex cleansed and toned my face did I actually remember to do it. But, I have always used a moisturising cream, at least once a week.

But, I think that’s going to be all changed now. The Micellar Water and the Hydrabio Moisturising Cream from BIODERMA have shaken up my beauty regime.

The deeply hydrating moisturising cream glides on to improve radiance and moisture for even the driest of skins. The specially formulated cream restores suppleness and softness whilst working to remove the dead skin cells. In a revolutionary way, the hydrating cream, which has a structure inspired by our own epidermis, encourages better penetration into the skin for a deeper, longer lasting and smoother skin texture. It’s packed full of antioxidants, strengthening Vitamin PP and Vitamin E to protect against premature ageing. Perfect for me being in the sun so often.

Prolonged time in the sun can cause premature ageing, I see people sitting on the beach for hours on end, every day, throughout winter and summer, and their skin starts to resemble that of a leather boot. It droops, it has deep lines, sure, it’s brown and tanned, but it can’t be healthy. That’s why I’ve started wearing sun cream even in the winter. The sun is still bright and the UV rays are still there. I want my skin to be in the best condition for as long as possible.

The Hydrabio cream works together to fight against premature ageing whilst leaving skin looking bright, soft and replenished. The best part is it also works to improve your skin’s natural ability to remain hydrated. The cream is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and paraben free.

I was also sent some cotton wool pads from Bioderma that are soft and comforting. If you buy the set from Look Fantastic for £22.50, you’ll also be sent the cotton wool pads as a free gift!

All of the BIODERMA products are formulated with the purest, active ingredients that are naturally found in the skin for a better tolerance. This concept is a concept known as biological mimicry.

BIODERMA is a true pioneer when it comes to beauty products for sensitive skin. Its micellar water is now the leader for soft yet effective micellar water. So good that even pharmacies have put their name to it.
