What is better on Sunday than a warming, delicious roast dinner with all of the trimmings? If you’re thinking that coming on holiday during the winter means you have to sacrifice that Sunday lunch for a hotel dinner, or, you’re not sure where to go to get the best ones, then look no further. Here are the best places to go for a Sunday lunch in Benidorm, tried and tested.
Sundays were made for roast dinners and when it comes to Yorkshire Puddings, bigger really is best.
Now that the weather has gotten colder and that wintry chill is really in the air, it’s the best time to cosy up with a warming roast dinner before heading back for a lazy Sunday.
I would definitely recommend emersing yourself in Spanish culture and trying some Spanish cuisine whilst you’re over here, but if you’re here long-term, or just want a sunday roast, then you’ve come to the right place to find out where to go!
1. Seven Stars, La Cala
Situated next to the Hotel Bali, opposite Calas Marina. Seven Stars is a British Sports Bar that offers a wide variety of food options, including a hearty roast dinner on Sundays.
On the day of our visit, spit roasted pork and chicken were on the menu. We had the delicious spit roast pork.
The dinner was enormous and very filling. The entire dinner impressed us, the Yorkshire puddings were nice and big, with the right combination of soft and crispy. There were roast potatoes and mashed potatoes, which were delicious.
The service from Julie and Neil is welcoming at Seven Stars and the live sports are broadcasted, which is great to watch whilst enjoying your meal.
*It’s recommended to book ahead for roast dinner at Seven Stars*
2. Showboat, Benidorm
Where can you get four delicious courses for less than 11€? At the Showboat in Benidorm, that’s where! Located near to Benidorm Palace, the showboat is an excellent spot to visit to enjoy an enjoyable roast dinner.
We had a soup followed by a prawn salad, which were both tasty.
The food comes out separate, which is perfect for fussy eaters like me who don’t like the vegetables touching other food. Or, of course, you can dish them on to your plate like a normal person.
There were stuffing and Yorkshire puddings, which went down very well with me!
Everything was cooked very well, and there’s certainly no shortage of choice. The meat was flavoursome and the fluffy Yorkshire puddings were lovely too.
It’s a good idea to leave room for the final course, dessert – especially the delicious homemade M&M cheesecake!
Other notable places for a Sunday lunch that come highly recommended are the following:
- The Four Seasons, Benidorm
- Phoenix Bar, Benidorm
- Wooky Hollow
- The Peppermill
- Northern Sole
I have not tried the ones mentioned above, though fully intend to go, so I will update this list accordingly, either adding or removing. I can only vouch for the three that I have posted a review about. The ones above come highly recommended from friends and members of the community.
