If you’re looking for a reputable company to get you about in Benidorm, such as from Alicante Airport, then ALSA is a great place to start.
They are the leading operators of passengers and they hold a very good reputation. ALSA are part of the well-known National Express Group which runs in the UK and are linked with Europe, North America, North Africa and the Middle East. They’re a name you can trust.
Many companies will tell you they’re the best for airport transfers or their trips are the best around, but before you’ve done your research, don’t get drawn in.
With ALSA, from Alicante airport, there are buses to Avenida Europa and the Bus Station. A single journey is 9.65€ running for the majority of the day. They do not run overnight.
At Benidorm Bus Station, the tram has now opened which provides direct links to the number 9 tram, heading to Denia or Benidorm centre, which then provides links to the number 1 tram to Alicante.
We have used ALSA many times in the past and we have always found them comfortable and adequate. There are some buses that are run by other companies, such as Mercedes. We did not find these comfortable, at all! There are green lights throughout the night journey and very uncomfortable seats. If you can, choose the bus that is guaranteed to be an ALSA bus.
On longer journeys, such as our journey to Granada, the buses are equipped with entertainment systems. These are great for longer rides, filled with movies, songs and TV programmes. On board, there is also unlimited free WiFi and multiple charging points per person. That means, you can surf the web, update your social media and watch a movie on your iPad whilst using none of your data and without running out of battery!
There are also many ALSA buses running locally in Benidorm. With ALSA, you can get to, but not limited to, Callosa, Altea, Albir, Villajoyosa, La Nucia, Alfaz del Pi and many more. Prices are competitive, such as the route to Altea is also 1.50€. Local tickets can be bought on board the bus.
We had a great experience with ALSA once again, this time it was to Seville and Granada. In the past, I have travelled with ALSA to Barcelona, Valencia, Albacete, Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Villajoyosa.
I would definitely recommend taking a look at the ALSA website to see if your journey would be cheaper with them. Make sure you account if you’d need an onward journey, such as a taxi, in your budgeting. Their website is all available in English and their customer care can be contacted in English, too.
I’d also recommend taking a look at their ALSA PASS. You can take advantage of unlimited travel throughout Spain using one of their passes, starting at just 99€ or 7 days.
With the ALSAPASS, you can choose from short or long-haul journeys throughout Spain, as long as each ticket is less than 80€. This is the easiest and cheapest way to tour Spain. You aren’t able to return to the same destination on the same day, so you must keep moving on.
To buy your ALSAPASS you sign in to alsa.com and buy the ALSAPASS you would like. They will then send you your ALSAPASS locator which is the code associated with your pass. This will enable you to buy your tickets for 0€.
To use your ALSAPASS, use the ticket search engine on alsa.com and choose the route you want. In promotional code, type your locator code. This will then modify your checkout cost to 0€! The ALSAPASS is unique to your name, so there is no possibility to share it with anybody else.
